Franchise History
Head-to-Head
Buffalo's all-time record against every opponent. A relocated or renamed franchise is shown under whichever name and abbreviation it uses today, see the glossary below for exactly which historical names that folds in. Click any team for its own full game log, playoff series history, and round-by-round breakdown.
Franchise name & location changes: only continuous, unambiguous relocations/renames are merged this way. A franchise that folded into an already-existing one (e.g. the 1978 California/Cleveland-into-Minnesota merger) is deliberately left as separate history instead, since that isn't the same team the way a simple city move is.

Regular Season
GF and GA count regulation and overtime goals, with a shootout's deciding goal left out, the same goals the Season by Season table and the Scores and Team Stats pages count. The league standings credit the shootout winner with that goal, so the Standings page reads higher by each team's shootout record and lists SOW and SOL beside it.
